Carol (aka Blue Pipe Thoughts) trained in biology, and worked for a while in the pharmaceutical industry before becoming a full time Mum. She retrained to be a Reader in the Church of England while living in the Diocese of York, following a part-time course run by the York School of Ministry. She enjoyed the course so much, she continued studying until graduating from Durham University with a First in Theology, Ministry and Mission. Carol was initially licensed in the Diocese of Durham, where she served in three churches and has since been licenced twice more; once in the Diocese of York, and currently in the Diocese of Leeds.
Carol has myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), which makes all physical and intellectual activity difficult. However, her Christian spirituality has flourished, and she embarked on a project to condense the whole Bible; taking each chapter and summarising it as a single sentence. Everything is hermeneutics: Carol’s context informs her interpretation… but the exercise is one which has helped her to grow in the knowledge and love of God.
‘Blue Pipe Thoughts’ are the result of Carol’s prayer and reflection, and are all original content. These personal reflections are shared here in the hope that you might be inspired to undertake your own Biblical reflections. That you may come to know God better for yourself: seeking God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
