I love a journeying theme, it seems to apply to so much in life. This I wrote while reflecting on the life book I’ve just finished writing; the joy of reaching a point in life where fear begins to fall away, and being bold comes easier. The confidence to do the thing always wanted, but never before attempted.
The Courage Path
Sensitive soles
make footsteps across
the vast
wide-open,
to forge a path where
there was none before.
Across a hillside green-gold-brown,
nettles sting and thistle prickles;
a lesson of your choosing.
While curlews call you on and on.
Footsteps of the courage path
overlay the fearful,
gliding on
the very edge,
revelling at the depth-
or climbing down,
with bounds
like mountain goats,
to find the hidden nest.
In this un-crowded land
there is room
carved out
for you.
