Notes from Rural Mission Task Group meeting on 18th August 2026
Minutes:
- Opened with prayer.
- We had said we wanted to get to know each other a bit better, to understand what brings each of us into this mission role… so over lunch we had a wide-ranging conversation about each other’s background and experiences in church and mission. We also noted that a member who had started with us had chosen to withdraw to focus on his new role as a priest-in-charge and the challenges he is facing.
- We talked about the challenges ahead and thought about next steps.
a. GH to continue to make appointments and visit rural clergy
b. We decided to have a rural conference in 2027, and set a planning date.
c. GH to continue to exercise practical mission in Upper Weardale and reflect back to the group his experiences at the next meeting - Next meeting – planning rural conference: 17th Sept, Diocese Office
